Makouda Recipe - A Delicious and Crunchy Moroccan Potato Appetizer

Make Delicious Makouda with Kitchen Pal


Ingredients:

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs

  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley

  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh cilantro

  • 1 teaspoon of cumin

  • 1 teaspoon of paprika

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Boil the chopped potatoes in a large pot of salted water until they're tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. Drain the potatoes and mash them in a large bowl.

  3. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, parsley, cilantro, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper to the mashed potatoes. Mix everything together until well combined.

  4. Form the potato mixture into small balls, then flatten them slightly into a patty shape.

  5. Heat enough vegetable oil in a large frying pan to cover the bottom of the pan.

  6. Fry the potato patties in the hot oil until they're golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  7. Remove the potato patties from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain off any excess oil.

  8. Serve the Makouda hot and crispy with your favorite dipping sauce.
