Lebanese Kibbeh Recipe - A Delicious and Nutritious Middle Eastern Dish

It's a combination of ground meat, bulgur wheat, onions, and spices, shaped into balls or patties and either baked or fried. The result is a delicious and nutritious dish that can be served as an appetizer, snack, or main course. Follow this simple recipe to make your own Lebanese Kibbeh and experience the flavors of the Middle East.


Make Delicious Kibbeh with Kitchen Pal


Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of ground beef or lamb

  • 2 cups of fine bulgur wheat

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 1/4 cup of fresh mint leaves, chopped

  • 1/4 cup of fresh parsley leaves, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon of ground cumin

  • 1 teaspoon of ground allspice

  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking the kibbeh or heat vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat if frying the kibbeh.

  2. In a large bowl, soak the bulgur wheat in cold water for 15 minutes. Drain the bulgur and set it aside.

  3. In another bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onions, chopped mint leaves, chopped parsley leaves, ground cumin, ground allspice, ground cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Mix well with your hands until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  4. Add the soaked bulgur wheat to the meat mixture and knead it for a few minutes until it forms a smooth dough-like mixture.

  5. Shape the mixture into small balls or patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter.

  6. If baking, place the kibbeh on a greased baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. If frying, add the kibbeh to the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

  8. Serve hot with tahini sauce or hummus and enjoy your delicious Lebanese Kibbeh!
