Total Time: 4 hours 30 minutes
Instructions:
In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy.
In a saucepan, heat the milk until just simmering. Gradually pour the hot milk into the egg yolk mixture, whisking continuously.
Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon. Remove from heat and let cool.
In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
In another bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese until smooth. Fold in the cooled egg yolk mixture, then fold in the whipped cream.
In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and Marsala wine.
Dip the ladyfingers one at a time into the coffee mixture, making sure they are well-coated, but not soggy. Line the bottom of a 22x33cm baking dish with the soaked ladyfingers.
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder.
Enjoy it!
