Heavenly Lebanese Namoura - A Sweet and Nutty Treat!

If you're looking for a sweet and nutty dessert that's easy to make and bursting with flavor, look no further than this Lebanese Namoura recipe! Made with semolina flour, yogurt, and a generous amount of syrup, Namoura is a beloved Middle Eastern dessert that's perfect for any occasion.


Make Mouthwatering Namoura with Kitchen Pal


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of semolina flour

  • 1 cup of plain yogurt

  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted

  • 1/2 cup of sugar

  • 1/2 cup of water

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/4 cup of sliced almonds (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the semolina flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, yogurt, and sugar until well combined.

  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a thick batter forms.

  5. Grease a 23x33-cm baking dish with butter or cooking spray and pour in the batter, using a spatula to spread it evenly.

  6. Use a knife or spatula to score the surface of the batter into diamond shapes.

  7. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

  8. While the Namoura is baking, prepare the syrup by combining the water and sugar in a saucepan and bringing it to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes or until thickened.

  9. Once the Namoura is done baking, remove it from the oven and pour the syrup over the top while it's still hot.

  10. Garnish with sliced almonds, if desired, and let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
