Make Mouthwatering Falafel with Kitchen Pal


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups dried chickpeas

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley

  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp ground coriander

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Soak the chickpeas in water overnight, then drain and rinse them.

  2. In a food processor, pulse the chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking soda, salt, and pepper until the mixture is finely ground and holds together when squeezed.

  3. Transfer the falafel mixture to a bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

  4. Heat the oil in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat.

  5. Using a tablespoon or falafel scoop, form the mixture into small balls.

  6. Carefully drop the balls into the hot oil, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  7. Remove the falafel balls from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain them on paper towels.

  8. Serve hot with pita bread, tahini sauce, and fresh vegetables.
