  • 3 tablespoons of yerba mate leave

  • Hot water (not boiling)

  5. Slowly pour hot water (not boiling) over the leaves, filling the mate gourd to the top.

  6. Sip through the bombilla, savoring the flavors of the mate. Refill the gourd with hot water as needed to continue enjoying the mate.

  7. Optionally, you can add sugar, honey, or other sweeteners to taste, but it's traditionally enjoyed without any additives.
